Much like the sun, some people generate magnetic fields around them. Maybe it’s because of this phenomena that I first noticed him.
Unlike the sun’s two octillion tons of hot plasma that will burn your eyes if looked at directly- he has a child like appearance. Round head, bowl cut hair and two gumdrop eyes.
Straight light brown hair sweep a 360° radius around the top of his head and he is shaved from the ears down to the neck.
His movements orbit an indecipherable galaxy. Pulling everything along with him. I can’t tell if he’s arrogant or disconnected. Maybe both.
The most striking are his eyes. For the simpletons amongst you; black pupil surrounded by a hazel iris.
For the scientists; imagine an annular eclipse. Black in the middle radiating a halo of brown gold colouring and as it approaches the circumference, fades into a green gold. Imagine two of these staring right at you.
Now imagine these very same eyes unfocus into partial eclipses looking just beyond you. They keep fluttering in and out of these two stages, as if the sun, the moon and the earth are playing tag.
Sending your gravitational centre off balance.
He often stares at me. Or beyond me.
Am I an object in his syzygy?
Or just the space that happens to be in-between?
One small shiny object catches my eye. A ring worn on the left hand finger. A clear indication of his belonging to the planet earth. To the human species. To a society with norms, rules and laws that govern us all.
The pinnacle of love, or at least donec mors nos separavit.
